Avita is actively promoting the establishment of new standards for intelligent extended-range technology in the industry.

As more automakers choose to enter the new field of range extension, the call for clarifying the new standards of range extension technology is growing.

On September 13, the "Kunlun Summit" Range Extension Technology Development Forum, co-hosted by the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute and the China Electric Vehicle 100 Forum, with support from Avita Technology, was held in Kashgar, Xinjiang.

This forum attracted over 20 think tank experts to gather at the foot of the Kunlun Mountains. Experts pointed out that the future development of range extension technology will be closely related to the genuine demands of users. It’s not possible to create an excellent range extender simply by adopting existing methods; traditional fuel vehicle components cannot be "assembled" into a good range extender either. Successful range extension technology should adhere to three key principles: "robust power, quiet operation, and high efficiency."

Hu Chengtai, Vice President of Avita Technology, delivered a keynote speech at the forum using the Kunlun range extender as an example.

It is reported that to address the issue of weak power delivery in range-extending vehicles, Avita Technology has partnered with CATL to develop the 39kWh Shenhui Super Hybrid Battery, which significantly enhances discharge capability, achieving the industry's highest peak discharge rates of 9C at full charge and 7.7C during discharge. The battery can charge from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes, paired with a dedicated range extender generator that boasts a peak output power of 100kW, ensuring robust performance whether the vehicle is powered or running low. Additionally, the Kunlun range extension technology offers strong power preservation capabilities, ensuring that users' battery levels will always be exhausted after the fuel is consumed during daily driving.

Moreover, Avita's self-developed Kunlun range extender HE1.5T supercharged engine features the world's first electronic oil pump technology and unique active control technology for shutdown pistons. This innovation keeps the internal sound pressure during idle charging at just 35.7 decibels, matching the quietness of pure electric vehicles.

The China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, the China Electric Vehicle 100 Forum, and Avita Technology seized the opportunity to jointly release the "Kunlun Summit - Range Extension Technology Development Initiative," proposing a redefinition of the new standards for range extension technology.

At the strategic design and theoretical understanding levels, the three parties unanimously agreed that the advancement of technology should not be determined solely by the form of energy, but by continuously innovating technology to enhance overall performance and user experience. They emphasized exploring the deep integration of range extension technology with smart technology, addressing issues such as power degradation under extreme conditions through smarter power control, speeding up technological breakthroughs, and promoting the innovative development of range extension technology.

Additionally, they suggested pushing for the development of industry standards, regulations, and technical certification systems, accelerating the establishment of standards, particularly in key modules like engines and batteries, to achieve greater vehicle economy and safety. An equitable, open, and pragmatic industrial platform should be constructed, along with a sound evaluation system.
