The new GV70 has been launched, and Genesis is becoming more resilient in China.

On October 23, Genesis officially launched its new GV70, with prices for the four model variants ranging from RMB 293,000 to RMB 403,000.

This press conference also marked the debut of Zhu Jiang, CEO of Genesis Automobile Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. During the event, he emphasized that although the brand's recognition and sales in the Chinese market are not high, Genesis is "more determined than ever" and will not exit the Chinese market.

According to data, Genesis sold 1,558 vehicles in 2023, with 888 units sold in the first three quarters of 2024, which represents a year-on-year decline of 24.8%. Zhu Jiang stated, "As a member of the young luxury brand club, Genesis possesses the courage and determination reflected in the saying ‘Heroes emerge from youth’ and is thriving globally while continuing to deepen its presence in the Chinese market. We do not dwell on the past, nor do we fear the future."

Zhu Jiang introduced: "The new GV70 is a sincere offering from Genesis for Chinese consumers. It combines elegance with sportiness, highlighting the fundamental logic of building a luxury brand: luxury exists in the details."

It’s reported that while maintaining the brand's design philosophy of "dynamic elegance," the new GV70 has received comprehensive detail upgrades from the inside out. The vehicle offers 22 interior combinations and 13 exterior paint options, allowing for up to 286 combinations of interior and exterior styling. A rare feature in its class, the ultraviolet sterilization armrest box ensures that personal items are kept clean.

In terms of driving comfort, the new car features high-quality NAPPA leather seats, complemented by a double-stitched diamond pattern, providing a refined tactile experience.

While most mid-size luxury SUVs in the same class typically use a 2.0L engine, the new GV70 comes standard with a 2.5L turbocharged gasoline engine, delivering a robust 304 horsepower and 422 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 6.1 seconds.

Regarding the digital experience, the new GV70 is equipped with a 27-inch seamless OLED screen as standard, which is a rarity in the segment. Its unique fingerprint recognition system accurately identifies user identities, enabling functions such as vehicle start, personalized seat adjustments, and steering wheel position settings.

It’s noteworthy that the new GV70 features an automatic tunnel mode that recognizes onboard navigation maps, allowing it to close the windows and switch the air conditioning to recirculation mode automatically before entering a tunnel, while also activating the air purification system.
