This past weekend, the F1 Grand Prix returned to China after a five-year absence, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of China hosting the F1 event.
On the eve of the F1 Chinese Grand Prix final, Mercedes-AMG held a brand night event, where the all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE PERFORMANCE made its global debut.
In addition, the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 SE PERFORMANCE F1 special edition, the new Mercedes-AMG S 63 LE PERFORMANCE and the first special edition are officially on the market, with manufacturer's suggested retail prices of RMB 1.1918 million, RMB 2.638 million and RMB 2.853 million respectively.
It is worth mentioning that as the second generation of the GT sports car independently developed by Mercedes-AMG, the advent of the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE PERFORMANCE sports car has added a new member to the "2-second club". Its 0-100 km/h acceleration time is only 2.8 seconds, and its maximum speed can reach 320 km/h, making it the "fastest AMG production car in history".

The F1 special edition of the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 SE PERFORMANCE is the first C 63 model equipped with an enhanced version of AMG high-performance four-wheel drive, and is the first in its class to be equipped with a rear-wheel active steering system as standard. The AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension derived from the AMG GT3 racing car has an adaptive adjustable damping function, which allows the vehicle to have both a comfortable ride and a dynamic driving experience. The F1 special edition's exclusive carbon fiber trims and body decals, combined with the AMG aerodynamic components throughout the body, create a strong racing atmosphere from the inside out.
The new AMG S 63 LE PERFORMANCE is a distinguished and calm luxury and technology flagship. The AMG family's iconic vertical waterfall grille, which is used for the first time in the AMG S-Class, and the standard 21-inch AMG light alloy wheels and red brake calipers highlight the performance while adding a luxurious style. At the same time, the new AMG S 63 LE PERFORMANCE is also the first to come standard with three chassis technologies: AMG ride control enhanced suspension with adaptive adjustable vibration reduction function, rear wheel active steering system and AMG active roll stabilization function. It is also the first S-Class sedan to use AMG dynamic engine mounts, creating a dynamic and static driving experience with forward-looking technology.

Technologies such as NANOSLIDE® cylinder wall coating and high-voltage battery packs derived from F1 racing cars have now been applied to Mercedes-Benz mass-produced cars. The three cars that appeared at the brand night are all equipped with the performance-oriented E PERFORMANCE high-performance hybrid technology derived from F1 racing cars.
Inheriting AMG's pure racing genes, the new AMG GT 63 SE PERFORMANCE is equipped with E PERFORMANCE high-performance hybrid technology derived from F1 racing cars. The "one man, one engine" M177 AMG 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine, coupled with an electric drive unit with a P3 layout, can achieve a system comprehensive maximum power of 600 kilowatts (816 horsepower) and a comprehensive torque of an astonishing 1,420 Nm.
Xue Fuming, member of the board of directors and chief technology officer of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, who is responsible for R&D and procurement, said that Mercedes-Benz is transforming towards an electrified future, and its technical accumulation in the F1 arena has also played a decisive role in the efficient electric drive system of the VISION EQXX concept car and the CLA-class concept car. In the future, Mercedes-Benz will also launch the first high-performance pure electric vehicle independently developed by AMG based on the AMG.EA platform, which has many innovative technologies leading the industry, such as axial flux motors.
In China, the second largest market for the AMG brand in the world, Mercedes-AMG is actively participating in car races while also vigorously promoting the development of racing culture in the local area.
