On April 23, the new M5 series was officially launched on the market, with a total of 3 configurations, priced from 249,800 yuan, and mass delivery will begin on May 15.
It is reported that the new M5 is positioned as a high-looking urban performance SUV, with many new upgrades from the inside out, and the RS version is launched for the first time, with a younger image and a more extreme experience.
Huawei's high-end intelligent driving models below 300,000 yuan are all sold at a loss
At the press conference, Richard Yu, Huawei's executive director, CEO of the Device BG, and chairman of the Intelligent Automotive Solutions BU, said: "The new M5 has Huawei's latest intelligent driving capabilities, a younger appearance design, more reliable active safety capabilities, and a more comfortable overall driving experience! We believe that the new M5 is the first smart SUV that is more suitable for young people and is also another hit of the brand!"
Judging from the final price range of 249,800-279,800 yuan, the new M5 did not adjust the starting price of the product this time, but offered optional benefits worth 37,000 yuan, including a 3,000 yuan cash discount, 12,000 yuan worth of optional funds, 20,000 yuan worth of discount coupons for the urban smart driving package, and 2,000 yuan worth of front windshield insulation film after picking up the car, which is equivalent to lowering the threshold for consumers to buy a car.
Yu Chengdong said that this industry is too competitive. "After picking up the car, we also gave away a front windshield heat-insulating film. This was just added today. We brothers really worked hard. It's awesome."
At the same time, when asked about the fact that the new M5 is equipped with Huawei's advanced intelligent driving system as standard, Yu Chengdong admitted that "Huawei's advanced intelligent driving system priced below 300,000 yuan is actually sold at a loss."
New RS version, "big mouth" becomes "small mouth"
In terms of appearance, the new M5 has a brand-new closed front face that is fashionable and sporty based on the extreme, simple and pure sports SUV design language. Yu Chengdong called this "the big mouth has become a small mouth."
At the same time, the new M5 has added an RS version and two new color schemes: Metropolitan Red and Tahitian Gray.
The HUAWEI ADS 2.0 advanced intelligent driving system, which is standard on all models, has high-level intelligent driving capabilities in highways and urban areas that do not rely on high-precision maps. As of April 2024, the total mileage of HUAWEI ADS intelligent driving will exceed 200 million kilometers.
The new M5 has strong passive safety, and is nicknamed "a small land tank that has never lost in actual combat." In terms of active safety, the new car has upgraded forward, side, and rear all-directional collision avoidance. Xiangjie S9 is jointly created by Huawei and BAIC, and is the first executive-class luxury flagship sedan of Hongmeng Intelligent Travel.

It is reported that Xiangjie S9 will be officially unveiled at the 2024 Beijing International Auto Show.
