In November 2023, the GAC Trumpchi E8 officially launched, creating a new sub-market for household electric vehicles and achieving the top sales in the medium-sized new energy MPV category, initiating the era of family cars 3.0 in China.
Now, GAC Trumpchi strikes again in the new energy sector. On September 10th, thousands of car owners gathered in celebration to welcome the launch of the GAC Trumpchi E8+. The two variants of the model are priced between 232,800 and 238,800 yuan. Compared to the current model, the new car features significant upgrades in configuration, while the exterior and interior design remain largely unchanged.
The GAC Trumpchi E8+ is built on the X-SOUL architecture, equipped with the i-GTEC ADiGO intelligent driving interconnect system, which includes the ADiGO PILOT for smart driving and the ADiGO SPACE for an intelligent cockpit.
The new car retains the interior layout of the current model, featuring an 8.88-inch digital LCD instrument panel and a 14.6-inch suspended central control screen, powered by the ADiGO 5.0 intelligent vehicle system. This system is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, supporting four-zone voice recognition and full OTA upgrades, fully compatible with HUAWEI HiCar applications, offering navigation alerts for traffic lights and cruise control mode. The vehicle also adds features for fatigue driving warning, door opening alerts, and rear collision avoidance warnings. Additionally, the smart driving system is enhanced with the ADiGO driving assistance system, which includes standard lane change assistance, lane-keeping, and adds rear-side collision warnings.
The all-new GAC Trumpchi E8+ measures 4920mm in length, 1900mm in width, and 1760mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2930mm, featuring a “2+2+3” seven-seat layout. The vehicle offers an impressive 5.20 square meters of interior space, and the super zero-gravity seats in the second row come with ventilation, heating, and massage functions. Furthermore, it includes foldable tables on both sides of the second row and is equipped with the world’s first Love Guardian wall lamp.
In terms of power, the GAC Trumpchi E8+ continues to feature a 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid system, with a maximum output of 103 kilowatts and peak torque of 180 Nm; the electric motor has a maximum power of 134 kilowatts and peak torque of 300 Nm. The vehicle is equipped with a battery capacity of 25.57 kWh, providing a pure electric range of 150 kilometers under CLTC standards, while the combined range with full fuel and full charge exceeds 1200 km.
Data shows that the cumulative sales of Trumpchi MPVs have surpassed 650,000 units. With this upgrade, the Trumpchi E8+ aims to deliver a wonderful travel experience to the broader family vehicle market, being smarter than MPVs, more comfortable than SUVs, and more spacious than sedans.
