On November 12, 2024, the China FAW Hongqi brand New Energy Night event took place in Shenzhen. During this event, the Hongqi brand made significant announcements, unveiling two major innovations: the "Tiangong Pure Electric Platform" and the "Jiuzhang Intelligent Platform," along with three high-quality products that integrate the latest technologies from both platforms. They also introduced the Hongqi Zhizao mid-to-large luxury pure electric SUV—Tiangong 08.
Among these, the Tiangong Pure Electric Platform focuses on improving energy consumption, having developed an efficient power module that achieves low-temperature endurance with minimal degradation, offering both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive efficiency, a heat pump air conditioning system that is more energy-efficient, and an ultra-high voltage fast-charging experience. Particularly when it comes to extremely cold weather, which typically poses challenges in terms of range reduction and slow charging, Hongqi has pioneered low-temperature battery cells that maintain a 98% charge retention rate at -10°C, outperforming competitors' 95%; even in harsh environments of -30°C, vehicles can be started effortlessly, making the notion that “electric vehicles can't cross the Great Wall” a thing of the past. Beyond just the battery cells, the Tiangong Pure Electric Platform has achieved multiple breakthroughs in electric drive, thermal management, and charging.
On the other hand, the Jiuzhang Intelligent Platform launched by Hongqi is centered around the fully self-developed Feibian architecture, integrated with a whole vehicle-level operating system FAW.OS and China's first automotive-grade advanced 5-domain fusion chip, “Hongqi No. 1.” This intelligent foundation aims for comprehensive breakthroughs in five key areas: intelligent driving, intelligent cabin, vehicle control, safety, and connectivity, providing users with a brand-new intelligent experience.
In addition, taking the successful completion of the Tiangong 08's hardcore challenge—a series of four extreme tests—as an opportunity, China FAW announced it will actively implement the “Mount Everest” safety plan for new energy vehicles recently released by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center. Hongqi will be the first participant in this plan, embedding this new safety standard throughout the entire development and validation process, making it the new standard for safety in Hongqi vehicles and further advancing the high-quality development of new energy vehicles.
