On November 15, LEXUS debuted several popular models, including the all-new LX 700h and the new ES, at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show.
The flagship SUV, the all-new LX 700h, combines powerful performance with outstanding off-road capabilities, inviting customers to experience a new dimension of luxury in off-road driving, with a manufacturer's suggested retail price starting at 1.25 million yuan. The new ES, a mid to large luxury sedan, expresses a sense of luxury through its Eastern aesthetic design and advanced intelligent technology, starting at 299,900 yuan.
The introduction of these star models signifies LEXUS's steady progress in the electrification journey. Li Hui, the Executive Deputy General Manager of LEXUS China, remarked at the press conference: “Since entering China, LEXUS has been dedicated to providing better products for Chinese customers. With a strong foundation in electrification technology and automotive expertise, we continue to meet diverse customer needs and express our gratitude for every customer's support and loyalty through our superior products.”

The all-new LX 700h maintains the exceptional reliability, durability, and powerful off-road capability characteristic of the LX series, while achieving new breakthroughs in design, power, and technology. It is equipped with a new parallel hybrid system specially tailored for off-road driving, integrating the electric motor and clutch between a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering a maximum power output of 336 kW and peak torque of 790 Nm. Thanks to the instant response of the electric motor, the vehicle responds smoothly and quickly during low-speed driving; under full acceleration, it harnesses powerful torque to ensure rapid acceleration performance. In extreme outdoor conditions, even if the hybrid system encounters a malfunction, the starter can quickly ignite the engine independently, allowing the vehicle to continue running solely on the engine and ensuring consistent off-road performance in various scenarios.

The cabin design ingeniously merges technology with practicality. The multimedia system features a user-friendly multi-screen interaction design, while the 12.3-inch central touchscreen and the 7-inch central vehicle information display work seamlessly together. The uniquely designed gear shift lever, created with input from off-road experts, balances safety, control, and comfort. The front seats offer five massage modes, which can be adjusted via the central smart control screen, greatly relieving travel fatigue.

Additionally, the all-new LX 700h has introduced a new VIP 4-seat model and the "OVERTRAIL" version, with the former catering to business needs and the latter equipped with front, center, and rear differential locks, as well as exclusive 265/70R18 all-terrain tires, further enhancing the vehicle’s off-road capabilities to a new level.
As one of LEXUS's best-selling models, the ES has seen cumulative sales exceed one million units in the Chinese market as of August 2024, making it a travel companion for many Chinese customers. The new ES launched at this year's Guangzhou Auto Show embodies the brand's “people-oriented” philosophy, directly reflecting Chinese customers' desires with comprehensive upgrades in exterior design, interior quality, and smart interactions, deeply interpreting the essence of Eastern luxury through a warm product quality.

Inside the vehicle, a 14-inch high-resolution touchscreen displays everything clearly. The cabin design pursues minimalistic aesthetics, with physical buttons cleverly integrated, along with an even more sophisticated gear shift design that better fits the usage habits of young Chinese customers. The dual-tone dashboard coordinates flawlessly with the same-colored armrest design and semi-aniline premium leather seats, with every detail showcasing LEXUS’s unique understanding of Eastern aesthetics and exquisite craftsmanship. The new interior color options, "Snowy Night White" and "Cinnabar Snowy Night Two-tone," bring elegance and vibrancy. The new ES features the "Silver Wave Moon Ridge" trim, inspired by traditional landscape paintings, evoking the essence of mountainous beauty and creating a magnificent cabin ambiance.

The new ES has undergone a comprehensive upgrade to meet the intelligent interaction demands of Chinese customers, especially in voice control. With an optimized natural language understanding model, it can effortlessly deliver precise command responses, whether for multiple consecutive instructions from front-row passengers or intricate semantic recognition. Its navigation and music recognition capabilities have also been significantly enhanced, ensuring a more natural and fluid interaction experience.
