GAC Group’s leadership change has been finalized.
On February 4, GAC Group (601238) issued an announcement that Zeng Qinghong applied to resign from the positions of chairman, director, chairman and member of the board's strategic committee due to retirement age, and Feng Xingya officially took over as chairman.
Public information shows that Feng Xingya was born in August 1969. He graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University with a bachelor's degree in industrial management engineering in 1988 and obtained a master's degree in business administration from Xi'an Jiaotong University in July 2001.
In December 2004, Feng Xingya moved from Zhengzhou Nissan to Guangzhou and joined GAC Toyota, which had just been established that year, as the Chinese head of the sales department, specifically responsible for the establishment and marketing work of the company's marketing department. On November 22, 2016, Feng Xingya was promoted to director, general manager, and chairman of the executive committee of GAC Group, and began to work with Zeng Qinghong.
In order to better develop independent brands, Feng Xingya has also served as the chairman of GAC Trumpchi, GAC Aion and GAC International since 2017, and proposed a three-year revitalization plan for independent brands.
In November last year, in order to accelerate the transformation of GAC Group, Feng Xingya released GAC's three-year "Panyu Action" plan, proposing that through four major reform measures and five major guarantees, by 2027, independent brands will account for more than 60% of the group's total sales, challenging the goal of 2 million vehicles.
