From July 1, 2025, Dr. Robert Cisek will become CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars Brand China and executive vice president of Volkswagen Group China. In the new role, he will be responsible for managing the Chinese business of the group’s core passenger-car brand.
Cisek succeeds Stefan Mecha in those China posts. On the same date, Mecha moves to a new assignment as chairman of the board of management (CEO) of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWN) in Hanover.
The coordinated July 1 changes reset leadership for Volkswagen’s passenger-car brand in China while placing Mecha at the head of the commercial-vehicle business in Germany—a paired succession across two of the group’s key units.
