At 9:05 am on January 7, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in Dingri County, Shigatse City, Tibet. The sudden natural disaster posed a serious threat to the lives and property of the local people, caused heavy casualties and property losses, and touched the hearts of people across the country.
After the earthquake, many domestic automobile companies immediately extended a helping hand. So far, dozens of automobile companies including Mercedes-Benz, BYD, Chery Holdings, GAC Group, Xpeng Motors, Li Auto, Changan Automobile, Great Wall Motors, Geely Holdings, Xiaomi, NIO, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, FAW Group, and Dongfeng Motor have taken action to donate money and materials to help the people in the disaster area overcome the difficulties.
While launching the donation campaign, many car companies immediately opened emergency rescue channels for users in the disaster-stricken areas, providing services such as rescue, inspection, and repair of damaged vehicles.
It is reported that Mercedes-Benz and its dealer partners and the China Youth Development Foundation immediately activated the disaster relief emergency mechanism and purchased coal, coal stoves and other cold-resistant and supporting supplies that are most in short supply on the front line. The first batch of emergency supplies such as quilts, food and gloves were delivered to Dingri County at 7:30 am on January 8.
BYD Charity Foundation donated RMB 10 million to the disaster-stricken areas, which will be used for emergency rescue in the disaster-stricken areas of Tibet, life assistance for the affected people, support for rescue teams, and post-disaster reconstruction and other related work.
Geely Holding Group, together with the Li Shufu Foundation, donated 10 million yuan to the China Charity Federation to be used for emergency rescue, emergency material procurement, and post-disaster recovery and reconstruction in the disaster-stricken areas of Tibet. 
Chery Holdings donated RMB 10 million in cash through the China Charity Federation for emergency rescue and post-disaster reconstruction in the earthquake-stricken areas of Tibet. 
Great Wall Motors donated 5 million yuan in cash to the earthquake-stricken area in Shigatse, Tibet, to support rescue and reconstruction efforts in the earthquake-stricken areas and to care for car owners in the disaster areas. It also provided car owners in the disaster areas with 24/7 free roadside assistance, reduced repair costs and other care services. 
Changan Automobile, together with its brands and partners: Changan Qiyuan, Deep Blue Automobile, Avita Technology, Changan Kaicheng, Changan Ford, Changan Mazda, etc., donated 7 million yuan to the disaster area to provide assistance to the earthquake-stricken areas in Tibet and provide protection for the victims. Among them, Changan Mazda donated 1 million yuan, Avita Technology donated 1 million yuan, and Changan Ford donated 1 million yuan. 
GAC Group donated 4 million yuan in cash to the earthquake-stricken areas in Tibet for emergency rescue, people's livelihood assistance and post-disaster reconstruction in the disaster-stricken areas. GAC Group's GAC Honda, GAC Toyota, GAC Trumpchi, Aion, Wubo, GAC Hino and other vehicle brands and Zhongcheng Insurance have opened emergency rescue service channels for users, providing emergency services including rescue, inspection and repair of damaged vehicles, replacement vehicles for car owners, and rapid claims settlement, etc., to fully support local earthquake relief work. 
China FAW, together with FAW Hongqi, FAW Jiefang, FAW Bestune, FAW-Volkswagen and FAW Toyota, donated cash and vehicles worth 11 million yuan to support emergency rescue and post-disaster reconstruction in the disaster-stricken areas. 
Ideal Auto donated 5 million yuan to the China Charity Federation to support emergency rescue and post-disaster reconstruction in the earthquake-stricken areas of Tibet. 
NIO and the NIO User Charity Foundation donated a total of RMB 1 million to help the earthquake-stricken areas, which will be used to provide emergency relief supplies and post-disaster reconstruction. At the same time, NIO quickly mobilized, and the NIO headquarters, NIO Sichuan-Tibet regional company, and NIO Sichuan-Tibet regional car clubs worked together to mobilize supplies to support the disaster area. 
Xiaopeng Motors donated 1 million yuan to help the earthquake-stricken area in Shigatse, Tibet, which will be used for search and rescue of people in the earthquake-stricken areas, resettlement of the masses, and post-disaster reconstruction.
Xiaomi Charity Foundation donated 1 million yuan and urgently needed supplies to the disaster area for emergency relief and post-disaster reconstruction in the earthquake-stricken areas of Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region. 
BMW China and BMW Brilliance urgently donated RMB 3 million to the earthquake-stricken areas in Tibet through the China Education Development Foundation-BMW Love Fund, which will be used for emergency relief and post-disaster school reconstruction and other related work. 
Dongfeng Motor, together with its brands including Dongfeng Fengshen, Dongfeng Yipai, Dongfeng Nano, Dongfeng Lantu, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, Dongfeng Honda, Dongfeng Nissan, Dongfeng Off-road Vehicle, Dongfeng Shares, and Zhengzhou Nissan, donated RMB 10 million in cash and materials to the disaster area, including RMB 6 million in cash and emergency rescue vehicles worth RMB 4 million, which will be used for emergency rescue, life assistance for the affected people, and post-disaster reconstruction in Dingri County, Shigatse City, Tibet, and surrounding disaster-stricken areas.
