At the Shanghai Auto Show, Zhang Chaoyang’s physics class turned its attention to SAIC Volkswagen powertrain technology. Alongside BOSS Tao, the session set out to walk visitors through the engineering behind the brand’s Gemini engine in a hands-on format.

Rather than staying at the level of brochure talk, the on-site group focused on dismantling and explaining how the engine works. The aim was to make the technical story clearer for an audience that had come to the show floor to see the hardware up close.

The appearance framed SAIC Volkswagen’s Gemini engine as a topic worth unpacking in public: not only as a product feature, but as an engineering system that can be examined, discussed, and better understood when the cover comes off.
