On November 10th, Chery's latest masterpiece under its "China New Fuel Strategy"—the fifth-generation Tiggo 8—was officially launched in Beijing, poised to redefine the value benchmark for family SUVs with its "champion quality" and "electric experience" as a global car.
It is reported that the new car covers five configuration versions, with a price range of 99,900 to 129,900 yuan, and a limited-time early bird price starting from 92,900 yuan. At the same time, "eight champion privileges" will be launched.

The emergence of this new car is like Chery's value declaration of using technology as a spear and user needs as a shield—in an era where oil and electricity coexist, the evolution of gasoline vehicles is still full of room for imagination.
"Chery adheres to a two-way approach of synergistic development between gasoline and electric vehicles. We aim to transform the shortcomings of gasoline vehicles in terms of user experience into high-value advantages," said Zhang Guozhong, Executive Vice President of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., at the launch event for the fifth-generation Tiggo 8. He added that the Chinese automotive market has reached a critical juncture where the penetration rate of new energy vehicles has exceeded 50%. However, given the complex usage scenarios, gasoline vehicles remain irreplaceable. Therefore, gasoline vehicles will not disappear but will evolve into new forms and coexist with new energy vehicles in the long term.
It is understood that as Chery's flagship product in the gasoline vehicle series, the Tiggo 8 family has always been associated with the "champion" label throughout its product evolution. From its racing heritage of four championships in four years at the Taklimakan Rally and a total of 41 race championships, to its reputation built on global sales exceeding 1.45 million units and coverage in more than 100 countries and markets, the Tiggo 8 aims to democratize its core technologies with a "race-level civilian application" logic. The presence of Olympic champion Yang Wei at the launch event further strengthened the resonance between the "champion spirit" and the product's strength.

The fifth-generation Tiggo 8 is built on Chery's new intelligent T platform, integrating five major technology modules including the Mars architecture, Kunpeng powertrain, and Lingxi cockpit, supporting flexible expansion with multiple powertrains, models, and sizes. Its 1.6TGDI Kunpeng engine delivers a maximum power of 147kW, paired with a 7DCT transmission, emphasizing "unbeatable fuel efficiency" with a 0.2-second shift speed and 310N·m peak torque.
Meanwhile, the new car boasts a 2825mm wheelbase, an 84% usable floor area ratio, and 46 storage compartments, creating a "100,000-level space ceiling."
In addition, the entire series of smart cockpits are equipped with the 8155 chip, which supports AI large-scale voice interaction, four-zone voice recognition and interconnection with mobile phones from all brands, attempting to break the stereotype that "gasoline cars are not smart".
In terms of safety, the body is made of 80% high-strength steel and aluminum and is equipped with the only 8-airbag system in its class, meeting the safety standards of seven major global markets with its "rock-solid body".
The launch of the fifth-generation Tiggo 8 is also a practical example of Chery's "New Fuel Strategy in China." With new energy vehicle penetration exceeding 50%, Chery emphasizes the irreplaceable nature of gasoline-powered vehicles and, through self-developed technologies such as the Kunpeng Powertrain, AI magnetic levitation chassis, and Falcon intelligent driving assistance, is driving the evolution of gasoline vehicles towards "new technologies, new intelligence, new safety, and a new landscape." Its goal is not only product iteration but also to lead Chinese gasoline-powered vehicles in global competition.
