On November 13, 2025, Dongfeng Nissan released more than 30 new energy technology achievements, including "AI Cloud Hybrid", in Guangzhou, and launched pre-sales for the world's first plug-in hybrid sedan, the N6.
This move not only marks a new stage in Nissan's new energy strategy in China, but also marks its entry into the 100,000-yuan market with the positioning of "most family-friendly plug-in hybrid," attempting to regain the competitive position of joint venture brands in this field.
The focus of Dongfeng Nissan's technology launch this time is the "Most Home-like" technology system built around the "family travel" scenario. Unlike traditional plug-in hybrid technology that focuses on a single dimension of power and fuel consumption, the AI Cloud Hybrid system in the N6 redefines the value orientation of plug-in hybrid technology through three standards: "ultra-economical and energy-saving, ultra-intelligent and comfortable, and ultra-safe and worry-free." For example, the 21.1 kWh battery provides a pure electric range of 180km, a fuel consumption of 2.79L/100km when the battery is depleted, and the industry-first anti-stall intelligent control technology, all point to the core needs of "family users for long-distance commuting + short-distance pure electric travel."
In terms of safety, Nissan's "Cloud Shield Battery," which meets the highest global standards, has passed double the national standard tests and, together with the vehicle-cloud collaborative monitoring system, forms a "battery safety moat." The body structure and active safety features continue Nissan's "mobile sofa" comfort genes, with the rear zero-pressure cloud carpet sofa receiving dual certification from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center and TÜV Rheinland, demonstrating comprehensive protection for family members.
In the 100,000-level plug-in hybrid market, the N6, with its differentiated positioning as the "most user-friendly plug-in hybrid," directly targets popular domestic brands such as the BYD Qin L DM-i and Geely Galaxy A7. From its "one-charge-per-week" pure electric range to its "all-around anti-motion sickness" comfort experience, it attempts to break the impression that joint venture brands are "technologically lagging" in the new energy field.
Zhou Feng, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Nissan, emphasized that the goal of the N6 is to become "the most suitable mid-to-high-end plug-in hybrid sedan for families under 150,000 yuan". This statement reflects both confidence in the product's strength and an implicit rethinking of the joint venture brand's positioning in the new energy market - from "technology follower" to "standard definer".
The launch of the N6 is also a key part of Dongfeng Nissan's implementation of the "GLOCAL model" (global + local). For example, the shared technical architecture between the N6 and N7, and the first deployment of the Qualcomm 8775×Momenta flywheel large-scale cockpit-driver integration solution, all demonstrate the breakthroughs of joint venture brands in the field of intelligent technology.
From the N7 to the N6, Dongfeng Nissan's new energy vehicle lineup is gradually forming a complete layout of "pure electric + plug-in hybrid + range-extended". According to the plan, by the end of 2027, Dongfeng Nissan will launch six new energy vehicle models, covering different technical routes and price ranges, achieving a leap from "single-point breakthrough" to "systematic competition".
