False information, malicious defamation, and commercial slander have frequently appeared in the automotive industry in recent years. In September of this year, six departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly issued the "Notice on Launching a Special Campaign to Rectify Online Disorder in the Automotive Industry," deploying a three-month concentrated rectification campaign. A number of illegal and irregular accounts that infringed upon the legitimate rights and interests of car companies by spreading false information and maliciously smearing them were dealt with in accordance with the law, effectively safeguarding the high-quality development of the automotive industry.

SAIC Motor actively responded to the Cyberspace Administration of China's "Clean Network Environment Rectification" campaign, thoroughly implemented the requirements of the "Notice," and closely cooperated with relevant departments to jointly address issues such as "online water armies" and "black public relations," effectively safeguarding a fair, honest, and healthy industry environment.
Take the initiative to curb online rumors
Since the beginning of this year, the self-media account "Che Gulu Hua V" has repeatedly published false information, seriously damaging SAIC Motor's reputation. Faced with this malicious attack of rumors, SAIC Motor promptly reported the case to the police. Following a police investigation, the actual controller of the account was given administrative penalties according to law.
This is not the first time SAIC Motor has taken a firm stance against online rumors. Earlier this year, in response to attacks by self-media outlets such as "Electric Car Xiaosa" (电车小飒) and "Kewenlong" (凯文龙) against the Cadillac brand, SAIC Motor actively cooperated with relevant departments in their efforts to combat corporate rumors, effectively curbing the spread of misinformation and promptly eliminating negative impacts.
In recent years, with the rapid development of the automotive industry, various online rumors have also become rampant, and SAIC Motor and its subsidiaries have frequently been subjected to malicious attacks by "internet trolls" and "black PR" campaigns. Under the guidance of relevant departments, SAIC Motor has continuously improved its ability to proactively detect and respond to rumors involving the company, and safeguards its legitimate rights and interests in accordance with the law.
According to statistics, in the first 10 months of this year, SAIC Motor successfully dealt with more than 10,000 pieces of false information online, effectively curbing the spread and impact of false information.
Collaborative governance to build a clean and healthy defense line
Since the beginning of this year, several domestic automakers have joined forces to address online rumors and online trolls, working together to build a firewall against online "black PR".
Meanwhile, industry organizations and relevant departments are also strengthening supervision. This year, six departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly issued the "Notice on Carrying Out a Special Campaign to Rectify Online Chaos in the Automobile Industry," which clearly states that a special campaign will be launched nationwide to rectify online chaos in the automobile industry, focusing on cracking down on three types of prominent problems: illegal profit-making activities, such as creating and disseminating fake images and videos, maliciously interpreting corporate operating data, and using motherboards and artificial intelligence technology to create "online water armies"; exaggerated and false advertising, such as manipulating fake evaluations and hyping up industry topics; and malicious defamation and attacks, such as organizing "black PR" and "black mouths" to smear competitors and inciting netizens to engage in "verbal battles."
SAIC Motor acted swiftly, cooperating with relevant departments to promote the construction of a governance system for online black public relations that integrates "online monitoring, offline crackdown, government-enterprise collaboration, and social co-governance," creating a cleaner development environment for the industry.
In September of this year, SAIC Motor also announced a crackdown on online trolls and "black PR" tactics. Its own brands, including Roewe and MG, issued announcements soliciting clues and evidence of malicious rumors, insults, defamation, and commercial slander against the company and its brands, and established a special reward of up to 5 million RMB. The scope of the solicitation includes, but is not limited to: self-media accounts, marketing accounts, and MCN agencies suspected of fabricating and disseminating false information; and chat logs, audio and video recordings, emails, contracts, and fund transfer vouchers suspected of malicious defamation.
These measures not only demonstrate SAIC Motor's determination to safeguard its rights in accordance with the law, but also encourage netizens to actively participate in building a better online environment.
Policy guidance to purify the online environment
A favorable business environment is fertile ground for enterprise growth, while a healthy and clean public opinion environment is an important part of the business environment.
In May of this year, the Cyberspace Administration of China launched a two-month nationwide "Clean Internet, Optimize the Business Environment - Special Campaign to Rectify 'Black Mouths' Involving Enterprises" campaign, focusing on the chaos caused by online "black mouths" harming enterprises, and prioritizing the rectification of four prominent issues: malicious smearing and attacking enterprises, extortion of enterprises, malicious marketing hype, and infringement of confidential information.
In July, the Cyberspace Administration of China launched a two-month nationwide campaign called "Clean Up the Internet: Rectifying the Dissemination of False Information by 'Self-Media'," which focused on addressing prominent issues such as distorting facts through various means and providing false information in professional fields.
To address the problem of disorderly competition in the automotive industry, relevant departments have taken frequent actions this year. At the same time, relevant laws and regulations are being gradually improved to protect the legitimate rights and interests of automotive companies.
Currently, China's automotive industry is at a critical stage of transformation and upgrading. "Only through multi-party collaboration to purify the online public opinion field and create a sustainable industrial ecosystem can China's dream of becoming an automotive powerhouse be realized as soon as possible," SAIC Motor stated. The company will resolutely use legal means to safeguard its rights and interests, and also calls on more enterprises, media, and the public to participate in promoting a new pattern of online governance characterized by government regulation, corporate self-discipline, and social supervision.
