On March 22, the Mercedes-AMG Brand Night and the roar of the F1 Chinese Grand Prix resonated in the air of Shanghai.

That night, a huge "IT'S SO AMG" art installation was hung on the top of the venue. This design can only be seen through aerial photography or high-rise building perspectives, and the Easter egg feeling is full. Inside the venue, a W16 E PERFORMANCE F1 racing car hanging in the air became the visual focus. Its black and silver paint and optimized suspension system demonstrated the determination of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas team to impact the 2025 season.

However, the exhibition car was not the main character of the night, but the 18-year-old F1 star Kimi Antonelli. The young driver was fighting for the starting position in the Jiading track during the day, and "landed" at the AMG Night in Xuhui Binjiang at night. As the third youngest driver in F1 history, he will partner with George Russell to compete in the new season. He and his teammate have already won the front row starting position in the race with the 2nd and 8th qualifying positions in the qualifying on the 22nd.

The all-new AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ made its debut in China amid the roar of the V8 engine. Its 4.0T V8 twin-turbocharged engine has been structurally optimized, with a turbo response speed that is improved, a maximum power of 430 kW (585 hp), and a peak torque of 800 Nm. With a 9-speed MCT gearbox and 4MATIC+ four-wheel drive system, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The body adopts the iconic long front and wide body design of the GT sports car, and the 5-level active rear wing automatically adjusts the angle at a speed of 80 km/h. The drag coefficient is as low as 0.29Cd, taking into account both aerodynamics and classic aesthetics. In the interior, the 12.3-inch 3D instrument and AR-HUD head-up display project track data in real time, while the carbon fiber trim and Nappa leather seats interpret the balance between performance and luxury.
Since 2015, the AMG GT family has served as the F1 safety car for 11 consecutive years. In the 2025 season, the AMG GT Black Series and AMG GT 63 S four-door sports cars that set the Nürburgring lap record will serve as the safety car and medical car respectively.
Mercedes-AMG non-executive board chairman Xue Fuming emphasized that the AMG brand is defining the future of performance through three major paths: adhering to the "one person, one machine" philosophy in the fuel field, introducing F1 racing technology in hybrid models, and developing axial flux motors based on the AMG.EA platform in the pure electric field. This technology can reduce the size of the motor by 50% and double the torque. The first prototype has entered winter testing. At the same time, the solid-state battery technology developed in cooperation with HPP has an energy density of 450 Wh/kg.

After the brand night, AMG extended the speed narrative to the city scene. From March 20 to March 23, AMG built three Mercedes-AMG boutique car display areas in the city's hot spots such as the racing circuit business district, Xintiandi Fashion Plaza and Xuhui Riverside Promenade. A variety of AMG cars such as the W 14 E PERFORMANCE F1 racing car, the new AMG GT 63 SE PERFORMANCE, and the AMG SL 63 race sports special edition appeared in the city landmarks, and the city test drive experience was provided to the public.
The 2025 Autumn/Winter Shanghai Fashion Week will be held right after the F1 Chinese Grand Prix. Mercedes-Benz will once again serve as the official designated automotive partner. During the Fashion Week, the new AMG GT 63 SE PERFORMANCE, AMG SL 63, AMG CLE 53 and other AMG cars will be on display in Xintiandi for a limited time.
From F1 racetracks to city landmarks, from racetracks to fashionable neighborhoods, AMG is no longer a simple high-performance car brand, but a lifestyle brand that is full of passion and enthusiasm, and combines avant-garde and fashion.
