A new car aimed at surpassing the Tesla Model Y has been launched.
On September 24, at Huawei's Autumn All-Scenario New Product Launch, the HarmonyOS-powered first coupe SUV, the Zhijie R7, was officially unveiled, with a suggested retail price starting at 259,800 yuan, which is a reduction of 10,000 yuan from the preview price.

Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Executive Director and Chairman of the Terminal BG and Intelligent Automotive Solutions BU, stated at the launch event that the Zhijie R7 incurs a loss of 30,000 yuan for each vehicle sold, but he hopes that by partnering with Chery, they can increase delivery volumes and reduce costs.
Official data shows that within less than two weeks of opening for pre-sales, orders for the Zhijie R7 exceeded 30,000, with over 6,000 bookings in just 24 hours after the launch.
According to Yu Chengdong, the "R" in Zhijie R7 stands for "Revolution," indicating that it is meant to be revolutionary. "With talent, we aim to disrupt the market, creating a revolutionary coupe SUV through spatial revolution, performance revolution, intelligent revolution, and super safety."
The new car measures 4956mm in length, 1981mm in width, and 1634mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2950mm. It follows the OneBox design philosophy, moving the C-point forward and raising the D-point, resulting in nearly 1 meter of spacious interior both front and rear, with a room utilization rate of 74%. Yu Chengdong particularly emphasized the loading capacity of both the front and rear trunks, highlighting the innovative features of the front trunk, which includes an electric pop-open mechanism and electric close function, making it very convenient to retrieve items. This is a memorable feature.
In terms of details, the Zhijie R7 is equipped with a fully connected central control island featuring two 50W super wireless fast chargers, three 66W wired fast chargers, and dual cup holders for convenient charging and storage. The front central armrest box can be optionally equipped with an 8.2L dual-opening mini bar with cooling and heating functions. It offers a spacious experience with a 2.1m² panoramic sunroof and is also equipped with electric sunshades for physical sun protection. The vehicle employs over 100 noise control technologies to create a more serene riding experience.

Regarding performance revolution, Yu Chengdong noted that the Zhijie R7 provides “coupe-like” driving dynamics, being equipped across the range with the HUAWEI DriveONE 800V high-voltage silicon carbide power platform. The Ultra model, the most expensive variant, has a total power output of 365 kW, achieves 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, and has a braking distance from 100 km/h to 0 of only 34.7 meters, with a moose test result of 82.3 kph.
The Zhijie R7 also boasts excellent energy consumption and range performance, with a remarkably low drag coefficient of 0.219. Standard across the range is the HUAWEI "Whale" 800V high-voltage battery platform, offering a maximum range of 802 km, leading pure electric SUVs into the dual 800 era.

Furthermore, in the realm of smart technology, which Huawei excels at, the Zhijie R7's intelligent cabin and driving experience have made significant strides. For instance, the Zhijie R7 comes equipped with the latest HUAWEI ADS 3.0 advanced intelligent driving system, featuring an all-new end-to-end architecture that can navigate around the country; an innovative parking space-to-parking space driving function that connects parking lots to public roads and from public roads to facilities, allowing for real-time destination changes and independent gate access, truly realizing seamless integration across all scenarios, with a driving experience that closely resembles human behavior.
In terms of parking, the Zhijie R7 can now identify obstacles occupying parking spaces, allowing users to simply exit the vehicle and move the obstacle to facilitate autonomous parking, making it even more convenient and safe.
