On April 12, with the official launch of GAC Haobo's new flagship model Haobo HL, GAC Group announced to the industry with a technological feast: the automotive safety standards in the intelligent era have been redefined. A six-seater model positioned as a "family smart new luxury SUV" entered the market with a price range of 269,800-319,800 yuan, but with a technological depth that goes beyond the price dimension, it became the first carrier of GAC's "Xingling Safety Guardian System".
At the press conference, GAC Group focused on deeper safety technology innovation. As one of the first automakers in the country to be approved for L3 autonomous driving road testing qualifications, GAC systematically announced for the first time the "Xingling Safety Guardian System" covering full-link R&D, full-domain technology and full-time protection. The strictness of this system is reflected in the formulation of collision safety standards. On the basis of integrating European standards, American standards, national standards and the highest requirements of the industry, GAC has expanded the test conditions to more than 60, which is equivalent to 3-4 times the conventional industry standards. Supporting this standard is the digital twin simulation system and the actual vehicle verification equivalent to 13 million kilometers, and its test mileage is enough to circle the earth 325 times.
When the 64km/h Haobo HL completed the 25% small overlap rate offset collision test, the live broadcast clearly showed the results of the technology implementation: the passenger compartment structure was intact, the doors opened and closed normally, and the battery pack had zero thermal runaway. Behind this is GAC's forward-looking layout for intelligent driving safety - the failure rate of the L3 autonomous driving system is suppressed to the 1FIT level (1 failure per billion hours), which is a thousand times higher than the aviation safety standard. The dual redundant design of the eight key systems ensures that the switching is completed within 30 milliseconds when a fault occurs, which is only one-tenth of the time it takes for a human to blink. The industry's first Eagle Claw System 2.0 allows the vehicle to surpass the human reaction limit with a correction speed of 30 milliseconds when it loses control in unilateral wading. Combined with torque vector control technology, the safe speed limit on icy and snowy roads is increased by 21%.
In the field of battery safety, GAC has demonstrated its advantage in controlling the entire industry chain. From the 5-needle puncture test of the battery cell without fire, the 180° torsion test, the independent protection cabin design of the magazine battery, to the 24-hour monitoring of 1,307 battery parameters by the cloud security system, a three-dimensional protection network has been built from the microscopic battery cell to the macroscopic system. The real-time monitoring capability of 3,881 vehicle safety parameters has built a digital shield for 1.7 million users.
The foundation of intelligent safety lies in the autonomy and control of the core supply chain. The 12 automotive-grade chip matrices released by GAC in cooperation with ZTE, Yutai Microelectronics and other companies cover key areas such as power management and chassis control, marking a substantial breakthrough in the domestic chip ecosystem. Through the "one chip, multiple sources" strategy and end-to-end verification platform, GAC is reconstructing the safety standards for core components of smart cars. As Feng Xingya, general manager of GAC, said: "As the industry competes for intelligent driving experience, we choose to return to the essence of car manufacturing - safety must be defined by car companies."
As a technology master, Haobo HL integrates safety genes into its product texture. In the ultra-long body of 5126mm, the combination of Qualcomm 8295P chip and LiDAR realizes full-scene intelligent driving coverage without images. Its military-grade night vision system pushes the night AEB recognition distance to 150 meters, three times the industry average. The smart digital chassis is equipped with air suspension as standard, and with 5C supercharging technology, it can replenish 265 kilometers in 5 minutes, completely eliminating the mileage anxiety of pure electric travel.
From the launch of the Xingling safety system to the implementation of the Haobo HL, GAC Group has not only demonstrated its control over the entire industry chain from battery cell research and development to vehicle manufacturing, but also adhered to the principle of "no compromise in safety" and attempted to set a new benchmark for China's automobile industry in the wave of intelligence.
