On April 10, Mercedes-Benz released its sales in China for the first quarter of 2024.
Mercedes-Benz sold 168,100 vehicles in China from January to March 2024. Due to the shortage of spare parts and the replacement of some models starting in the fourth quarter of 2023, sales fell slightly compared with the same period last year.
At present, the overall share of luxury brands is under pressure.
According to the China Passenger Car Association, the retail share of luxury brands in March was 15.6%, down 1.6 percentage points year-on-year. However, it pointed out that the shortage of luxury cars caused by the shortage of chip supply has been greatly improved. Luxury brands will better meet customer needs in the future.
Although the total delivery volume in the first quarter was temporarily affected, Mercedes-Benz's main models in China are still in strong demand. Compared with the same period last year, the delivery of domestic pure electric models in the first quarter increased by more than 100% year-on-year; the delivery of domestic C-class cars increased by nearly 50% year-on-year; and the delivery of domestic GLC SUV increased by more than 20% year-on-year. The new long-wheelbase E-Class has continued to receive positive market feedback since its launch in December 2023.
In the high-end luxury product matrix, high-end luxury models represented by the luxury flagship S-Class sedan continue to lead the luxury market segment. Mercedes-Benz brand continues to be the preferred brand for customers in the 1 million and 1.5 million class luxury car market with a steady momentum.
In the first quarter of this year, Mercedes-Benz launched a number of heavyweight models, including the Mercedes-Benz G 500 Legend Special Edition, the Mercedes-Benz G500 Collector's Edition, the new generation Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV, and the new Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe, which continued to attract customers' attention.
Against the backdrop of a slowdown in the global pure electric trend and the country's encouragement of diversified energy-saving paths, Mercedes-Benz has responded positively and firmly promoted the electrification process with a diversified driven product series.

The all-new long-wheelbase E-Class plug-in hybrid model will also make its China debut and will be officially launched in the second quarter.
Mercedes-Benz's exhibition lineup this time covers a full product system from high-end luxury, core luxury to new generation luxury.
