On November 5, the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) kicked off as scheduled, with participation from 152 countries, regions, and international organizations this year. Both the number of countries and participating companies have surpassed the previous expo, with an exhibition area exceeding 420,000 square meters.
Among these, the corporate exhibition area remains over 360,000 square meters, featuring 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders, setting a historical record.
The automotive section is also a key highlight of this global economic and trade exchange event, and Mercedes-Benz, which has been present for seven consecutive years, is one of the exhibitors. This time, Mercedes-Benz showcased ten models, with powertrains including both gasoline and electric, covering various types like sedans, SUVs, and high-performance vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz's lineup at the expo fully demonstrates its product strategy of "Regardless of gasoline or electric, it's still a Mercedes." For example, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS all-electric SUV and the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E PERFORMANCE F1 Special Edition represent the pinnacle of two different driving forms.
"Leveraging the vast Chinese market, the CIIE has become one of the world's most prominent expos, reflecting China's continuous push for high-level opening-up and strengthening international trade cooperation. It also showcases the innovative vitality and long-term potential of the Chinese market," said Hubertus Troska, a member of the board of directors of Daimler AG and responsible for business in the Greater China region. "This year, we brought the richest lineup of models since our participation in the CIIE, committed to meeting the diverse needs of Chinese customers with products that meet Mercedes standards. In the future, while continuing to introduce new products and technologies, Mercedes-Benz will deepen cooperation with Chinese partners to jointly promote the development of new energy vehicles and intelligent connected cars."
In 2023, sales of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars in the Chinese market accounted for over 35% of the total global sales. Having established roots in China for twenty years, Mercedes-Benz remains optimistic about the long-term growth potential of the Chinese market and is steadfastly continuing its investment despite current market challenges.
Recently, Mercedes-Benz announced plans to collaborate with Chinese partners to invest over 14 billion RMB in localized development initiatives.
By 2025, Mercedes-Benz will launch a grand new vehicle offensive, rolling out a new all-electric long-wheelbase CLA model exclusive to China, a new long-wheelbase GLE SUV model, and a new luxury all-electric MPV based on the VAN.EA platform. Notably, the new long-wheelbase GLE SUV model will be developed by a team based in China, offering a comfortable experience and advanced smart technology tailored for the Chinese market.
Transitioning from "In China, for China" to "Driven by Chinese innovation, leading global trends," Mercedes-Benz is exemplifying the correct approach for a company with a long-term vision in the Chinese market.
